With more and more people interested in learning about Indian cuisine, Bini conducts talks and demonstrations to educate budding cooks about the techniques used in traditional Gujarati Indian cookery.
With over thirty years of cooking knowledge, she is able to talk through the journey of the various spices and their uses, clearly explain every process during the live cookery demonstration; also giving hints and tips throughout. There are always tasters on offer after the demonstration.

WI Stanton Drew March 2013
‘Dear Bini -Thank you again for such an excellent demo yesterday. You will have been aware of the warm response you generated and the enthusiasm which greeted your sales table, and I do hope that further support for your business will emerge over future months. From the Stanton Drew Committee’s point of view it was a highly successful evening. I look forward to seeing the television programme and hope the career really takes off – we can then swank that we knew you when you were just starting out. Personally I think you have all the charm and expertise needed and wish you well. – Raynor’
WI Temple Cloud June 2013
I had such a lovely evening, in the warmth, outside, in a beautiful setting in Temple Cloud. The ladies enjoyed the demo and as the smell continued to drift throughout the garden they were beginning to get a little hungry. I was pleased to see that all the ladies sampled the foods and were happy with the result.
Foodies Festival Bristol July 2013
I was given an opportunity to demonstrate at the Bristol Foodies Festival. It was an amazing experience and with a 45 minutes time line I showcased my matar paneer recipe, how to cook the perfect rice and how to make chappatis from scratch. It went down very well and the seats filled up throughout the demo. A round of applause from the guests made me feel satisfied fulfilled.
WI Weston Super Mare July 2013
A beautiful building at Weston Super Mare Museum with its street like interior it was airy and bright. The ladies flocked to their seats and I was able to give them a talk and demonstration of my Moghul chicken. They were later given two samples to try and were extremely popular. Enjoy the summer holiday ladies and happy cooking.
WI Binegar August 2013
I was also fortunate to attend a WI meeting in Binegar The main theme of the meeting was India as ACWW the Associated Country Women of the World have a conference in India at the end of September. I was asked to conduct a talk and demonstration of a dish and I cooked my Moghul chicken dish to showcase how easy it is to prepare and make a delicious curry. There were 60 ladies who attended and meeting and I thoroughly enjoyed their company. I was lucky to go first and during the break talk through my spices and combinations. I was inundated with questions. During the lunch break I was able to showcase my samosa with a sweet tamarind sauce. This complemented the snack. I was also asked to make a delicious sweet made from carrots, sugar and cream; it is infused with cardamom and almonds, topped with pistachios. Gajar Halwa is a delicious sweet eaten after a spicy meal.
‘Dear Bini – thank you for a really fascinating talk at Binegar yesterday. We all really enjoyed it. Our chicken curry tea was delicious – yummy. Have had several lovely comments about your visit’. Cheers for now Eileen

WI Radstock and Saltford WI September2013
I was asked to visit tow local WI groups this month and I met some familiar friends who I hadn’t seen for many years ( Ramblers group). I moved to Somerset just over 10 years ago and it was lovely to catch up with my friends who helped me settle in the area. I was pleased to see a good turn out and the groups were also happy that guests had come especially to hear about my talk. Both evenings were a success and I was able to share my news with the members about achieving GOLD in the taste of the west awards. Happy times.
Below are some testimonials that I was given by the ladies:-

I would be very interested in coming along with my husband to a day school in the New Year probably and I will keep an eye on your website. Before that I will be in touch about some spice packs and take away dishes. Life is hectic, but that’s good. Best wishes for more success for the coming months’. – Sue and everyone at Radstock WI.
