Terms and Conditions
Here’s the boring but important information you need to read prior to booking.
Dear Cook, In order to avoid any confusion and misunderstandings all course bookings operate under the following terms and conditions.
My Agreement with you
These are the terms on which I will supply your chosen Sweet Cumin cookery course. Please read them carefully, and check that the details you provide are correct and that you have selected your chosen course.
Making a booking:
Course food ingredients are included in the course price. Refreshments are included and if attending a full day course, the lunch will be prepared by you as part of the course. I will confirm by e-mail items you need to bring to the course.
I cannot take responsibility for loss of possessions and I advise you not to bring any items of value. Cars are parked at your risk.
I may amend course ingredients or course timing from those advertised.
I own the copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the courses, recipes and any course notes supplied as well as any drawings, photographs or illustrations I produce in connection with the course. These materials may not be shared on social media or any digital format or any other format without my express written consent.
All recipes supplied by Bini and I owe the copyright. Whilst you may use them for personal use I do not give permission to use them for commercial gain.
Health and Safety:
You should wear non slip, flat, toe covered shoes. Your clothes might become stained as a result of the cooking, I would advise you to choose your clothing accordingly and to bring an apron. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery should be worn. There will be a health and safety brief at the start of the course and you must adhere to my procedures.
Please let me know in advance about any allergies, disabilities or particular conditions of which I should be aware such as diabetes or epilepsy, hearing difficulties or impaired vision.
I will endeavour to accommodate specific dietary requirements, which need to be notified to me by e mail at least 7 days prior to the course. If you have an allergy to particular foods you should note that the cookery school, its food preparation areas and utensils may contain traces of such foods.
You must not attend the course if you are, or have been, within the 2 day period prior to the course ill with any transmittable illness including vomiting, diarrhoea and flu.
Your chosen course may include wine for consumption with food you have cooked. In the interests of safety you must ensure that consumption is moderate.
At the end of the course you will be able to take home food you have prepared. You will need to ensure that storage, reheating and transporting of such food is in accordance with the information I provide.
Price and Payment
The price of your chosen course will be as notified to you by e mail prior to placement of your order. My prices may change at any time but prices will not affect the order I have confirmed with you. Payment can be made by:
(a) Cheque: payable to Sweet Cumin and sent to The Barn, Clapton, Midsomer Norton, Radstock. BA3 4EB.
(b) Cash: in person where a receipt will be given.
(c) Gift Voucher: in full or part payment. I will need your voucher reference number.
(d) Direct Bank Transfer: NatWest (Frome), Frome

Individual Courses: Full payment is required to confirm your place on the course by e mail at which point these terms will become binding.
Block Bookings: (4 plus cooks in a group) Once I receive a deposit of 30% of the total block booking cost I will confirm your place on the course by e mail at which point these terms will become binding. The balance of payment is to be paid within 28days of the booking. Or full payment is required if less than 28 days of the booking.
Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Unaccompanied children over the age of 10 must be capable of handling a knife and be tall enough to stand and work both at a kitchen work surface and at a kitchen hob unit.
Cancellation and Refund
You may cancel an individual course booking at any time 28 days before the course and I will refund your payment.
You may cancel a block booking at any 28 days prior to the course date and I will refund your payment less the 30% deposit paid by you at the time of booking as set out in block booking paragraph above.
In the unlikely event I have to cancel a course due to an event outside my control (such as severe weather or the unavailability of key personnel) then I will refund payments made.
I may cancel the course at any time by providing you with at least 30 calendar days’ notice in writing and refund any payments.
If you want to transfer your booking to another person then please let me know.
Refunds are not available on gift vouchers but they are transferable, please contact me if you want transfer a voucher to another person.
There is a £3.00 postage charge for each voucher posted.

As a consumer you have legal rights in relation to courses not carried out with reasonable skill and care. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizen Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office. Nothing in these terms will affect these legal rights.
How I May Use Your personal information
I will use the personal information you provide to:
(a) provide the course;
(b) process payment for the course; and
(c) to inform you about similar products or services I provide, but you may stop receiving these at any time by contacting me.
I may use photographs of you, quotes from you and your experiences of the course to post onto my website or social media sites or to use as advertising to promote my business.
I will not give your personal data to any third party.
